Frequently Asked Questions
Category: About CGI
Where does the money go?
Over ninety percent of your donation goes to charity. Less than 10% stays with CGI to pay for credit card processing, the software we license, web-hosting and an audit. No salaries or stipends are paid. None of your donation will go towards salaries, supplies, entertainment or any miscellaneous costs. No officers, employees or board members receive any money in any form and none are related to any of the individuals or companies who are our vendors. All start-up costs to launch the site were paid by Joanne Wakim.

How do I get a receipt for my donation?
When you donate you will immediately receive an email receipt. You can also find a history of your donations on the website at "My Home", "Account Settings".
|
How do you select your charities?
We select our charities based upon reputation, effectiveness, size, governance, Catholic identity and good standing within the Catholic Church. Our goal is to select charities where our donations will make an impact, where the charity has already demonstrated effectiveness, and where we have no concerns about governance and standing within the Church.

How is the money distributed?
More than ninety percent of all donations go to the charities and money will be split evenly amongst the three charities. We distribute it to the charities approximately 45 days after your donation. Once donations reach $1 million, we will rotate in 3 new charities. Future charities will be reviewed and approved by the CGI Board.
